Dr. Ankita's primary research line is dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) design — a class of antennas valued for low loss, compact size, and design flexibility across frequency bands. Her work has progressed from foundational multiband and dual-band DRA designs, through circularly polarized and MIMO configurations for X-band coverage, to her most-cited contribution: a comprehensive review of gain-enhancement techniques in DRAs, published in the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies (2023).
A defining feature of her recent work is the integration of machine learning into antenna design — using data-driven prediction models to optimize antenna geometry and performance rather than relying solely on conventional electromagnetic simulation. This approach has been applied across DRAs, patch antennas, and filtering antennas, significantly accelerating design iteration.
Her research spans an unusually wide frequency range — from sub-6 GHz 5G bands through C-band and X-band up to the terahertz spectrum — applied to wearable and body-centric communication, IoT gateway systems, 5G/6G and future wireless networks, space communication systems, and medical image sensing, including terahertz antennas for physiological monitoring and UWB antennas for 5G/6G.

Recent accepted work includes terahertz body-centric antennas, spoof surface plasmon polariton UWB antennas for 5G/6G, and flexible antennas for space communication (IEEE WAMS 2026, IEEE SPACE 2026).
She is currently also collaborating with RCI-DRDO, Hyderabad on an antenna research project (including two student research internships) and guiding two PhD students.
